JD-Contractor A/S has high expectations for our new multi-flexible
vessel and Self propelled multipurpose barge - S/B Victor
JD Crafts ApS has expanded its fleet with another
vessel, a self-propelling barge named Victor, which was picked up
in Southampton, England.
Victor is an excellent working vessel with overwhelming
steerage. It has a length of 42 metres and a width of 9.5 metres.
Victor is equipped with 2 Schottel propellers and
it is therefore extremely manoeuvrable. Victor has furthermore 2
supporting legs and a hydraulic crane that can lift 16 tonnes alongside
the ship.
Victor can work in very low water, since the hull
has a draught of only 0.5 metres and the Schottel propellers only
extend about 1 metre when they are lowered.
Victor is particularly qualified for the following work:
• Crane and mounting
works with the existing crane, in which it is necessary to have
a lot of space for the deck cargo, for example exchanging of power
pylons, windmills and lighthouses at sea.
• Laying and
repair of submarine cables, both power cables and fibre optics cables.
At our storage in Kalundborg we have a big coil tower, chute and
cable capstan winch that quickly can be mounted on Victor.
• Laying and
ballasting of pipelines for drinking and waste-water pipes plus
cable pipelines.
• Embedding of
cables and other diving tasks. We have complete diving systems and
jetting and suction pumps that are containerized and therefore can
be easily and quickly mounted on Victor.
• If a hydraulic
excavator or a hydraulic crane is taken onboard Victor, it can carry
out the excavating of trenches for cables and pipelines on a hard
seabed up to a water depth of 6 metres.
