Cable jetting ROV System Sue Ellen - "SUB-JET
ONE" DOES NOT EXIST ANYMORE
In connection with our jetting and suction systems
we have developed a ROV unit specially designed for the embedding
of submarine cables and other tasks in deep waters.
The SUB-JET ONE employs rubber caterpillar tracks, and
is fitted with a hydraulic crane to remove e.g. large rocks. In
accordance with the prevailing bottom conditions, the SUB-JET ONE is
fitted with the appropriate jetting or suction systems. Where there
is an exceptionally soft seabed two large Archimedean screws replace
the caterpillar tracks.
The SUB-JET ONE is automated but breaks off if the cable
is not at the right depth, if there is an obstruction or if the
cable makes more than a 15 degrees bend. A pilot on the surface
is permanently on surveillance and can manually take over at all
times. As standard, the unit is fitted with several cameras and
positioning equipment, which enables the pilot to know the exact
location of the unit, cable and other vessels. If requested the
unit can be additionally fitted with various tools and measuring
equipment.
The SUB-JET ONE is normally launched from the offshore
vessel Cable One, but it is a mobile system that can be launched
in all places.
